DRAFT SANTA MONICA GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY PLAN Part 1 9.28.21 Response by Grassroots Coalition

Grassroots Coalition President Patricia McPherson authored and submitted this legal response/comment for the Santa Monica Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) in September 28, 2021.

There are two parts to the GSP as published by the California State's effort to implement their "Sustainable Groundwater Management  Act" (SGMA).  Each part has been individually responded to, so there are two links to our Part One and Part Two, and both need to be downloaded and read.

TONGVA VILLAGE OF SAANGNA - Lands & Waters of Ballona, part of the Sacred Native American Site registered by John Tommy Rosas, tribal leader, Tongva Ancestral Territorial Tribal Nation (TATTN)

SACRED NATIVE AMERICAN SITE-
The lands and waters of Ballona are part of the Tongva Village of Saangna. 

"This is a SACRED SITE registered by the Tongva Ancestral Territorial Tribal Nation…", states TATTN spokesperson and tribal leader John Tommy Rosas, 

"... that requires fresh water for tribal cultural and natural resources."
